November 2024 Bearcats of Character Recognized
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees recognized this latest group of students named Bearcats of Character for the 2024-2025 school year on Monday night for the character trait open mindedness.
The old adage is that integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching. But, there is more to it than that! People with integrity maintain a consistent pattern of behavior aligned with their values. They have the courage not to follow the crowd even if it means going against their beliefs. Integrity is closely aligned with honesty and authenticity, and is the cornerstone of high-functioning and sustainable teams, organizations, and societies.
Congratulations to the following students, Aledo ISD's November 2024 Bearcats of Character!

Aledo Middle School: AJ Myser, 7th grade
AJ demonstrates integrity by doing what is right when no one has asked him to. At the end of the class, he regularly straightens the journals and places them where they belong. This small step allows me time to greet my next class. I appreciate that he is doing little things like this with no expectation of recognition.
McAnally Middle School: Weston Johnson, 8th grade
Ms. Douglas nominated Weston for the Bearcat of Character award because he consistently shows integrity during all situations. She was so impressed recently by his character when he chose to do the right thing even wile a substitute was in the classroom. Weston is honest and bases his decisions in strong morals. Ms. Douglas appreciate the way he leads by example in their RLA class. Thank you Weston for being a bearcat with character everyday!

Early Childhood Academy: Makynleigh Lella , Pre-Kindergarten
Makynleigh is a leader in our class and is a model for integrity. I can always count on her to follow classroom rules and be truthful even when no one is watching. One day everyone earned a lollipop and was told to put them in their backpacks. At the end of the day, Makynleigh told me she could not find hers so I gave her another one. A few minutes later she brought it back, said she found hers and needed to give this one back. She is not only truthful but respectful, responsible and an all-around great friend.
Annetta Elementary School: Max Lever, 5th grade
When I think of someone who has proven to be honest day in and day out, I think of Max. He is inclusive to everyone and is sincere in his communication. He wants the best for everyone and shows that in his own work. He does the right thing even when no one is looking, and he does it because he just knows he should. He always shows integrity.
Coder Elementary School: Holland Diatto, 2nd grade
Holland consistently demonstrates integrity by taking responsibility for her actions and treating others with respect. Holland is committed to being fair and setting a positive example for her classmates. She is a standout student known for her unwavering integrity and consistently stands up for what is right.
McCall Elementary School: Dakota Palfy, 5th grade
Dakota exhibits a character strength of integrity because she is honest in the work that she does and will do the right thing even when no one is watching. She uses her voice to lead her classmates in making good choices. She is not concerned with what others think of her in the moment but instead concerned about the well-being of the entire group. Her classmates share that Dakota always tells the truth, always works hard even when no one else is, and she uses her strength of integrity to bring out the best in others.
