October 2025 Bearcats of Character Recognized
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees recognized this latest group of students named Bearcats of Character for the 2025-2026 school year on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 for the character trait PERSPECTIVE.
Perspective is usually gained over time, as one accumulates more knowledge and experiences. However, developing perspective is not simply a matter of time. It comes from truly listening to others when they talk — and working to understand new points of view when reading books, listening to stories, or watching movies.

Aledo High School: Parker Felty, 10th Grade
Parker is someone i can constantly turn to for advice, she is able to make me change my perspective on a situation from something negative to something positive. I can always walk out of a conversation with her laughing and in a better mood.
Aledo Learning Center: Christian Medley, 12th Grade
Although Christian has faced many challenges that could easily prevent him from maintaining a positive outlook, he chooses to focus on staying uplifting and optimistic. He consistently demonstrates insight and self-awareness by recognizing both his strengths and areas for growth. His ability to reflect on experiences, remain goal-focused, and approach challenges with thoughtfulness and positivity makes him a true role model for his peers.
Daniel Ninth Grade: Avery Bean, 9th Grade
She uses a particular way of thinking about and understanding something, she helped us see the problem in engineering class with our project from a new perspective; a different way we wouldn't have thought of.
Aledo Middle School: Kamdyn Elms, 7th Grade
Kamdyn recently took the initiative to reach out regarding ways to improve her grades, showing a genuine desire to grow and consider feedback thoughtfully. She actively listens, reflects on suggestions, and applies them in meaningful ways. Additionally, Kamdyn has been a positive leader in our 7th-grade advanced RLA class. She encourages her peers, models respectful engagement, and helps foster a classroom environment where multiple viewpoints are valued and considered. Her actions exemplify the LEAD values—she is a dedicated learner, empathetic toward others, accountable in her decisions, and committed to growth. Kamdyn’s willingness to reflect, lead, and support her classmates makes her a standout student and a deserving nominee.
McAnally Middle School: Molly Smoot, 7th Grade
Molly asks insightful questions, seeks deeper understanding, and approaches challenges with an open mind. She considers multiple points of view, works to see the big picture, and uses problem-solving skills that make her an outstanding student and a role model for her peers. Molly's thoughtful approach inspires those around her to think critically and with empathy.

Aledo ISD Early Childhood Academy: Kalani Perkins, Pre-Kindergarten
Kalani shows perspective by thinking about how her friends feel. She notices if someone is sad and will try to comfort them or play with them. Kalani listens to others’ ideas and understands that people can think in different ways. She helps make our classroom a kind and happy place.
Annetta Elementary School: Zara Pruitt, 3rd Grade
Zara consistently shows a remarkable sense of perspective in both her learning and interactions. She understands that challenges are part of growth and approaches setbacks not as failures, but as opportunities to learn and improve. Her excitement to come to school everyday and take on the challenge of navigating a new environment with a smile is so impressive. We all should learn for Zara positivity and perspective on change. Zara, you have been such an amazing addition to Annetta Elementary. We are lucky to have your positive attitude walking these halls.
Coder Elementary School: Samuel Maly, Kindergarten
Samuel is a wonderful friend to have in class. He is great at knowing what is going on and how to help out with others in our room. He has such a kind and understanding spirit!
McCall Elementary School: Hazel Patterson, 5th Grade
Hazel's peers say that she deserves this award because she is always giving different perspectives in our class academic discussions. She goes about having a different opinion/ view in a kind and respectful manner. Her peers seek her out and she always listens to them and guides them in the right direction.

McKinney Elementary School: Mila Briseno, 5th Grade
Mila is rocking 5th Grade! Mila shows perspective every day in class. She listens carefully to her classmates and understands that everyone can have different ideas. When we read or talk about stories, Mila is able to explain how characters might feel or why they make certain choices. She respects other people’s opinions, even if they are different from her own. Mila helps remind us that looking at things from many points of view makes our class stronger. Way to go, Mila!
Stuard Elementary School: Samantha Morgan, 5th Grade
Sam shows the trait of perspective by always seeing situations with understanding, kindness, and an open mind. She is always open to new ides and willing to give anything a try. She is such a wonderful example of perspective everyday.
Vandagriff Elementary School: Jessie Adams, 5th Grade
Jessie is an incredible example for her peers by showing the character trait of perspective in and out of the classroom! She listens to other classmates' opinions in discussions even when it's different from her own, uses empathy to understand where others are coming from, and looks at situations from different angles. Jessie's use of perspective in her life has made her a more thoughtful friend, helpful classmate, and an understanding member of her school.
Walsh Elementary School: Abigail Shaw, Kindergarten
Abby demonstrates the ability to look at learning opportunities and challenges with fresh perspectives in the form of options. Walsh is proud of Abby for consistently voicing new ways of looking at things which helps her classmates manage obstacles and come up with satisfying approaches to solve a variety of problems.
